Campus Swap is built with your safety in mind. Follow these guidelines for every transaction and you'll be protected every step of the way.
Never pay or accept payment outside Campus Swap. Our escrow holds funds until both parties are happy, it's the only way to guarantee your money is safe. If a buyer or seller asks to pay via EFT, cash, or another app directly, walk away.

Always arrange meetups in well-lit, busy areas on campus. The NMU library, student centre, or main campus cafeteria are ideal. Never meet at a private residence, in a vehicle, or off campus.

You have 24 hours after the meetup to inspect the item and confirm receipt. Take your time, check electronics are working, verify book editions match the listing, try on clothing if possible. Once you confirm, payment releases to the seller.

If something goes wrong, our dispute system protects you. You have 24 hours after a confirmed meetup to raise a dispute if the item isn't as described. We'll review the evidence from both parties and make a fair decision within 5 business days.

If you feel unsafe at any point during a meetup, leave immediately and contact NMU Campus Security at 041 504 1111 or call 10111 for South African Police.
